The official and technical name for a termite letter, or CL-100, is the Official South Carolina Wood Infestation Report. It is advised that all homebuyers obtain this report rather than the seller. This report is managed by the South Carolina Pest Control Association and the Division of Regulatory and Public Service Programs of Clemson University. To get a CL-100, you will need to find a pest control service with qualified and licensed inspectors to get the process started.
When the inspector first arrives at your home, the professional will check over the property for any sign of termites in or around your home. They will also look for insects that can destroy wood, as well as fungi. Fungi more than likely shows signs of water damage. At this time, moisture levels in the crawl space are also measured.
