As we get further into fall and the air gets a little more crisp, some pests around your home are seeking shelter for the winter!
Here are a few things you can do in and around your home to limit these rodents and insects from seeking shelter in your warm home.
Scale Back on Outdoor Plants and Mulch — Plants make excellent hiding places for pests, many of which eat wood or leaf mulch. So limit their supply by cutting plants back and using rocks and gravel for mulch.
Inspect for Entry Points— If you are seeing more insects in your home, we suggest you do a thorough check for gaps or holes in your windows or doors. Seal any that you find.
Keep Drains Clear — Rinse down any food that may be in your disposal at the end of every day. This is a great place for pests to find food and water!
Keep Food in Sealed Containers — Many pests eat through plastic, so we suggest to store food in a metal or glass container in your pantry and store them on a higher shelf.
