When the flies come into your home, it is often hard for them to find their way out! They fly toward the light of windows, but when the windows are closed, the flies can't escape. House flies can lay eggs inside your garbage can before you even know you have a problem. Because flies thrive in bacteria-ridden areas, they carry that bacteria with them when they land on your food. This can transmit diseases to you when you eat the infected food, including salmonella, E. coli and cholera.
The best way to fight against a fly infestation is to keep things clean. Try not to leave excess food in your pet food bowls when they’re through eating. Keep dirty dishes out of your sink as much as you can, and take your trash out regularly. Make sure your windows and doors are sealed and flies aren’t finding their way indoors through tiny cracks. While it’s near impossible to have a completely no-fly zone, keeping things clean will decrease the amount of flies in and around your home.
Too many damp areas around your home (or your crawlspace) can increase the amount of flies also. They love damp, moist areas to lay their eggs! The good news for you is we can help with that! Did you realize we did moisture control ALONG WITH pest control? Read more about that here.
